Have you gone on Pinterest yet? If not, I totally suggest you go! I found all these cool ideas for cooking and making things! I spent over two hours on there last night.

Anyway, a great idea for cooking came out of it. Pre-made crock pot meals made in ziplock bags that all you do is take out of the freezer and put in the crock pot. The lady who came up with this idea, has all the info including what to buy at the grocery store and everything for 8 meals made in the crock pot. here is the   LINK to her blog post about it.

Anyway, so today using that idea, I made a chicken noodle soup meal in the ziplock (excluding the noodles because they would get all soggy). It was pretty easy... I baked a whole chicken last night for dinner, we ate half for dinner. I then de-boned the chicken and saved all the broth. The broth I put in the ziplock along with some chicken bullion, water and peas and carrots and of course the chicken. I also added an onion to the mix and some garlic and onion powder. It should be yummy. Next week I am going to make the meals from the blog post above so you will hear about those next week. Sorry I didn't have pictures of the whole process, but here is a finished picture. :) FYI what fits in a ziplock is just perfect for our crock pot its a 5qt.

Another note, because this was mostly liquid, i double zbagged it.

Graduation and life

So today, I applied for graduation and student teaching. I graduate Dec 15th of this year. I cannot wait! I wont be walking although I kind of want to. But my school is located in Pensacola, FL and I live in AZ. My family in FL lives like 8 hours from the school so its just not worth it to me. However, I will be buying a tassel because I want one and I figured out how to buy one today without buying the cap and gown.

Its been 5 years since I graduated high school, 3 since I graduated with my AA.(If you are wondering why it is taking me so long, I changed majors so that put me behind by a lil over a year.) So I think its about time. I am 22 and 3 months after I turn 23, I will graduate with my bachelors degree in Exceptional Student Education and Elementary Education with minors in ESOL and Reading. I cant believe by Christmas I will have graduated 3 times... I am finally done!!! I am considering going on for a masters in ESE, but at the same time, I haven't decided yet...

~LIFE~

Ok, so you are probably wondering what else is going on in my life huh?
 Well for starters, we get the keys to our new home on Wed... yes, just 6 days away. I am very excited about that, yet its driving me crazy because of all the work I have yet to complete.

Mikel's back is still bothering him.... Nothing has worked so far. They are sending him to a ruematologist (sp?), hopefully that Dr. will help...
Oh and speaking of doctors, I went to the hospital Tuesday night due to severe ear pain. I was diagnosed with an ear infections and given pain meds and antibiotics, I seem to be doing better. 

I am not really reading anything but school book as of right now due to classes and not having extra time.

My animals are driving me crazy as when I clean they are right behind me messing things up.. :(

Anyway, I hope your week has been going well! As of right now my goal is to post on here at least once a week. With everything going on, its hard for me to remember to, so please be patient with me!

Wednesday Hodgepodge 2/1/2012

 1. It's that most wonderful time of the year...tax season! Do you complete your own returns or farm that job out to the professionals?

            I have actually never had to do taxes. My jobs until now have been babysitting/Nannying jobs. This year, my hubby will fill out our tax forms.

2. This next question comes from Kansas Bob...he posed it in his response to something I asked in an earlier Wednesday post and I asked him if I could add it to the Hodgepodge some day. Today's the day....

Which do you think has changed you more-love or pain?

            Pain…. Pain has caused me to rely more on God and God has changed me through the pain.

3. Tangerine Tango has been named color of the year for 2012. Your thoughts? Would I find this color anywhere in your house? How about in your closet? If not, will you be adding this color to your life in some way in 2012? If you're not sure what tangerine tango looks like click here.

            Wow! About the color… I didn’t even know each year there is a color for the year… I actually think there may be some in my kitchen. I just packaged everything up and packed it as we move in two weeks…. :/

 

4. Are you a collector? What do you collect and does it get admired, used, and/or dusted regularly?

            I collect stuffed monkeys. I have over 40 stuffed monkeys. Some not shown in the picture. Depending on who comes over, they are sometimes used. My cat loves to steal the small ones and run around the house with them. LOL!

5. February is National Heart Month...besides a green salad what is one tasty heart healthy dish you like to prepare?

            Hmmmm…. I am not sure… I didn’t know I was supposed to make healthy dishes. LOL! 

6. When was the last time you had car trouble?

           

        Ummmm……. Right now it’s having trouble. We went home for vacation and came back and my car won’t turn on… It was working when we left. 

7. Have you been more demanding on yourself lately or less? Is that a good trend?

            I think I have been more demanding… Its good in some ways, bad in others.

Can you believe its already February??? This year seems to be going by WAY too fast! At the same time, I am happy its going by fast because I want to be done with school. 

Another note, my sister-in-law had her baby son Colton yesterday which made me an Aunt. I am so happy! He is so cute and chubby!!!

The above is the newest news. Today my nephew was born. Both mom and baby are doing great! I am so happy and proud to be an aunt!!! On another note... I finished his quilt. He was born at 34weeks so I mailed it last week and it should be getting to their house today... a little late... but hey, at least they got it! Here are pics of the finished quilt!

FL was loads of fun, of course I wish I could have spent more time there!!! We went to Legoland and tons of fun there. I also got to see my newest cousin AJ.

Anyway, FL was loads of fun. We are going back to FL in May for a wedding. :D School is going well. Only taking 4 classes is weird... I have always taken more than 4... LOL! We get the keys to our new house on the 15th and do the big move on the 18th. I am so excited to have a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. Here are a couple of pictures of our new home.

This week: 1/13/2012~~I Passed!!!!

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!!!!!!!

I passed all three of my (FTCEs) Florida Educator Certification Exams. :) I took Professional Education, Elementary Ed K-6 & Exceptional Student Education. I am sooooooooo happy right now!!!!!

School is a little crazy and it has just begun. I cannot believe one of my teacher requires me to write 2 papers this week on top of discussion posts. I have so much reading to do this week, I haven't worked on it yet because of taking my tests these last 3 days. LOL! I don't want to read! I don't want to read... PLEASE don't make me!!! LOL!!

Tonight we are having a party(not because I passed). Over 200 people were invited to my parents house. Its going to be one crazy night!!! Its a late New Years party, as my family always does one and was in TN and a come see Mikel & Angela party combined. We are expecting around 100 people to come to the party today.

So far I am having a good vacation. I wish we had more time to spend with family... but that's ok. :( We do get to come back in May.

Missing people

Its so hard being here with my friends and family and not wanting to cry because I know I only got a few more days with them, and then I won't see them again till may or later... I hate living over a thousand miles away from everyone I love and hold so dear... I know this past 8 months I have learned a lot about relying on God and trusting my hubby; But I still don't like being soo far away from everyone... all my sibblings are growing up and I am not here for it. I don't know its just hard! Am I even making sense?? 

On another note, All I can say is that I love having blogger on my phone so I can lay in bed at night and type away without having to get out the laptop. Lol!

I hope your Monday was good and if you started school again today that you made it through the day!!

Going to FL

I am currently sitting in the airport waiting on our flight to go to FL. I am so excited!!! I cannot wait to see my friends and family again! We board the plane in about 30min. We will arrive in FL at 3:45pm. I miss everyone so much!

On another note, classes started today and look like they will be intense... But I am almost done! I can do it! =)

Anyway, due to being in FL and school starting, I may not post for a lil while. But I will at least get on to respond to any comments and to view my bloggy friends posts.

Stubborness, Perseverance and God

Why are some people so stubborn??? It just doesn't make sense to me... I am stubborn to a point, but if you really push me I give in... I know many people who are stubborn... They get upset because they can't figure something out so they refuse to continue in it and persevere... I know it can be hard to continue when everything seems like its gone wrong( I've been hurt by those whom I loved and whom I thought loved me, I also failed nursing school so I understand what its like to feel like a failure).

I guess to me its like some people give up too easily and then are stubborn and will not try at it again... Oh if only they would they would learn so much more....

Sometimes when things go wrong, its hard to see what God is doing and what His plan is because we are so focused on what's going wrong and trying to figure out what went wrong to mess up such and such plan.... Sometimes it is hard to look to God when we are stressed about a school assignment, class, life, family or when tragedy hits us....

The main thing to remember is no matter how horrible it is and how you feel is God's promises to those who love Him: 1. He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you! (Matthew 28:20b, Hebrews 13:5) 2. He works all things together for good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose.(Romans 8:28) 3. He will give you the strength to make it through it. (2 Chronicles 16:9)

Perseverance is very important to God. Its what helps us to develop our faith and to mature in Christ (James 1:2-4). Don't forget, if you lack anything to ask God(James 1:5-7). God will supply all your needs. (Philippians 4:19) Needs do not mean all your wants, but he will take care of you! There is no need to worry! (Matthew 6:25-34) He's got it all under control!

Just give it to Him... Stop worrying and trying to control everything.... God is already in control of it all and will take care of everything... Remember the song " He's got the whole world in His hands"??? Well he does... He's bigger than everything. Just give it to him, stop being stubborn and well, persevere!!
