Field Expereince Week 4 and More......

 ~Field Experience~
Field experience this week was great! I am not getting the hang of things and kind of know what I need to do each day. Tuesday I went to field experience after being up from 3am on. I actually felt more awake that day then I did today, which is weird. LOL! On Tuesday, one of my students got mad at me and kind of yelled at me. Her internet froze and well the only way to fix that is to restart the internet on the computer... well she didnt like the whole restarting thing. You see, each student has to get at least 15/20min on the computer and well that was messing with her time. Oh well. I cant really remember anything else interesting about Tuesday.... sorry!  Today, well it feels like yesterday, LOL! I helped many students with various things... I love working with children. One of the teachers asked me today if i really wanted to be a teacher. I said yes! She then went on to tell me that having a high self esteem is hard when you are a teacher, because the teacher is always doing something wrong... Her saying that made me feel bad for her. Yes, I want to be a teacher. Do I plan on teaching as a career, maybe... my idea of a career is being a stay at home mom, homeschooling my children. :D Can you tell I was home schooled??? My hubby and I both were.

~Cooking~
For dinner we are having roast... This time without all the extra garlic. LOL! IDK if i wrote about it for yall to read, but on Monday when I made roast, I accidentally used the pour side of the minced garlic instead of the shake side... and well, there was a TON of garlic. I woke up Tue morning at 3am with a headache and heartburn from it. I had heartburn all day Tuesday because of all the garlic. :( Anyway, I am kind of hungry (its 7:13pm here) and well I can't wait till that roast is done LOL!

This is Mondays roast, although you cannot see form the picture, there is TON of garlic on it.

~Pets~
This week we had to give Cocoa and Midnight a bath because they both kind of smelled. LOL! They had worked together to get into the trashcan... Anyway, I thought I would post pictures. The first ones are of Cocoa watching Midnight get a bath right after she had her bath. Cocoa is kind of wet in the pictures. The others are of poor Midnight who hates taking a bath. Afterwards he reminds me of the kitties on TV that everyone wants to save... Well, he did come from the human society... But he doesn't usually look like a poor lost and abandoned ragamuffin kitty. He looks like that to me when hes wet. LOL! (the picture of the cat being hold by the fir on the back of his neck is where my husband is holding him. I tried to convince him not to do that... Oh well.)

~Fall~
So for fall decorations, I got these cute salt and pepper shakers... They are my only decorations besides candles. :)
~Life~

Right now I feel like I am not a great wife. :(

The house is a mess.... I have just been so busy with field experience, working out and school... I keep on forgetting to wash my hubbys uniforms until the last minuet. :( Before school started I kept our home pretty clean now its a mess. I am not very good at communicating sometimes... :( I seem to be very good at doing things that bug my husband... But oh well. I will just have to work on doing those things less often. :(

Well, that's all folks!!!

Wednesday Hodgepodge 9/28/11

Thank you Joyce for coming up with these questions week after week. :)

1. It is officially fall here in North America...I realize not everyone who participates in the Hodgepodge lives in North America but if you do, what's your favorite memory of Summer 2011? If you're not in North America, what's your favorite memory of the season just ending on your side of the world?

Marrying my wonderful husband Mikel is my favorite summer memory. We were married on May 14th of this year. It seems like it was a long time ago because we married, went on a 4 day honeymoon, and then moved from FL (where all our family and friends are) to AZ.

Yes, I like to show off my hubby! I am so proud of him! He protects our freedom.

2. Your favorite nut? You know I mean the edible kind, right?
I love cashews!!!

3. What activity puts your sense of balance to the test?
Zumba

4. How would you describe your sense of humor?
I can be very sarcastic at times. I can also be very silly. My husband says I am the silliest woman in the world. LOL!

5. September 28th is National Ask a Stupid Question Day...what's your stupid question?

Why does my puppy prefer to drink water out of the bath tub than her bowl?

6. Roller skates~hula hoop~jump rope...which activity would you most enjoy? Yes, you have to choose.
Roller blades, although, I haven’t done that in a long time. The last times I did I fell like ten times. LOL!

7. What's your most sentimental possession?
I have many. But I would say my most is the special doll my grandma gave me for my 9th birthday. She got it for me before I was born and then waited to give it to me till I was old enough to take care of it. I wish I had a picture of it to post on here. But my box of dolls accidentally got left at my parents’ house in FL and I am in AZ, so there is no way to get that picture.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
The last weeks we have been talking about fall; scents, colors etc. and well you made me want to go out and buy fall stuff. So I got two candles this past weekend a pumpkin spice one and a cinnamon spice one. :)

If you are not sure which is my favorite click here to find out. :)

HAPPY FALL!!!!

Fall

Tomorrow is the first day of fall.:D I am so happy that it is finally cooling down here in AZ. It has been so hot this summer!! This week its been cooler :) I changed my blog design because it is almost fall, so I figured it was time for a change  lol! I <3 Fall!

What is it about fall that makes me happy?
  • I can go outside and not dying within 5min of heat exhaustion (LOL! that one is just a joke)
  • Cooler weather
  • Changing color of leaves (although, I dont think they will change here in AZ IDK they might)
  • Thanksgiving Day is coming soon. :) I love thanksgiving!
  • The fact that its almost winter and Christmas is almost here. :)
  • School is almost over for the semester. (only 13 more weeks I think).
What is it about fall that makes me sad?
  • Being so far away from all our family and friends.
  • Not having a big family (and friends) thanksgiving. :(
  • No Christmas with family. :(
Its really hard not to associate the fall season with being with my friends and family.
Last year for thanksgiving, we were all together my family and Mikel's family all had thanksgiving together at my in laws. It was so much fun! Mikel's cousins, aunt, uncle and grandparents came.  Plus some friends. All of us in a small house. We went outside and played air soft. Mikel actually accidentally shot me in the butt with his gun.... We also played card games outside and most of the younger people ate outside. There was lots of turkey and pie and every good thanksgiving dish. :) Oh, how I wish we could do that all again this year (minus the getting shot in the butt part). But we are in AZ and our family and friends are all on the east cost. :(

Some pictures of thanksgiving day last year:
 Playing Spoons
(it can become a dangerous game lol! especially if you use plastic forks. )
My Hubby Playing Air Soft
(Before he was my hubby.)

Field Experience Week 2&3

Last week in field experience I got to give a reading inventory test. That was really cool! I also got to pretty much direct the whole class in math. :) The teacher over me also let me look at another test they use to test SPED students. That was interesting to look at and learn about.  She has taught me so much in only 3 weeks. :)
Field experience today was fun. When the reading class breaks up into small groups, I get to help students when they have questions and even, instruct them on what to do. This I like a lot because I am not just sitting in the room doing nothing. I love the children in reading...  They are all so funny in some ways, and sometimes a little crazy. The reading class has students in 6th-8th grade. It is an accelerated reading class. The goal is to get the students up to their  grade level of reading at a fast pace. Some of the students in the class only read at a second grade level and like I said these are students in 6th-8th grade.

I also got to help 5th grade students with their math tests (help meaning read directions or if needed give them a similar problem and help them work through it giving them a little review). One of the other teachers came and got me to watch her students while she went to the bathroom. They were so funny. I was telling them what to do and they were kind of freaking out because they didn't know who I was. LOL! It made me laugh! In 4th grade, I got to work with a small group doing math. They asked me to help them on whatever problems they couldn't figure out, and I assisted them using the white board and we would work though the problems together.

So far, I really enjoy field experience! I dont like it that I have to get 100hrs in, but that's ok. It gives me more time to spend with students. By student teaching (Fall 2012) I will have accumulated 195hrs of field experience in total. That's a lot!  LOL!
FL Is now requiring 245hrs.... But I am one of the lucky ones who already took field experience 1 before they changed the rules. LOL! Yay me! I get out of it. :D

Anyway, thats all I had to say today. :)

Hear it on Sunday, Use it on Monday. 9/19/11

This Sunday in Sunday school meditated on Psalm 145.

Psalm 145 ESV
Great Is the LORD
[a] A Song of Praise. Of David.
1 I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised,
   and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
8The LORD is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9The LORD is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD,
and all your saints shall bless you!
11They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
   and tell of your power,
12to make known to the children of man your[b] mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

[The LORD is faithful in all his words
and kind in all his works.][c]
14The LORD upholds all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.
15The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food in due season.
16You open your hand;
you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works.
18The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.
20The LORD preserves all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.
21My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD,
and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

The verse that stood out to me, and that I have been mediating on is Psalm 145:8:
The LORD is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Something that Pastor Ray had us do with this verse was to put it into our own words. This is my version of this verse:
The lord is giving and doesn’t punish me as I deserve, He is full of Love and not anger (he is patient).

God really is gracious and merciful, he sent his one and only son to die for me, so that I might not have to be punished as I deserve, for I am a sinner. He is full of love; one of the ways that he shows it is by sending his son to die on the cross for me. He is slow to anger, He could have just punished us all, but instead, he sent his son Jesus. Everything he is points to Jesus and Love.

Sometimes it is easy to forget what Jesus has done for me. I get used to life and the rut of things…  and forget all that Jesus has done for me. So don’t be like me, take time right now to reflect and meditate on all that Jesus/God has done in your life.

Tag! You're it!

I was tagged by my friend Melissa at http://lifeofahoneybee.blogspot.com/

Here are the rules:

When someone is tagged they are invited to tell 10 random things about themselves and then tag five other people. Enjoy learning some new things about your fellow bloggers!

My Random Things About me:
1. Hate wearing socks… They make my feet sweaty! Even during the winter, I either let my feet freeze or wear my monkey slippers. If it is way too cold I will wear socks, but I prefer not to.

2. I really don’t like wearing shoes. I try to get away without wearing shoes. I actually burnt my feet this year walking outside here in AZ without shoes. The bottom of my feet hurt for 3days. :-(

3. I really really really like Cheerios. Don’t ask me why, but I love them. I will eat them plain, or put honey on them or splenda and cinnamon. I just really like them.

4. I do my best never to open my text books for my college classes. A lot of times I can go the whole semester with only reading one chapter. Don’t ask me how I can do that and still make As but I can.

5. My favorite meal is fettuccine alfredo from olive garden. Yes, specifically from olive garden because they make it the best! (Actually there is one other place I like it at, which is in TN but I cannot remember the name).

6. Children make me happy, every time I see one; I want to spend time with them. I love working with children. I really miss babysitting! I miss Sydney and Vann!

7. I didn’t ride a roller coaster until I was 13. My first two roller coasters were The Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney World and Montu at Busch Gardens.

8. I haven’t folded or put away clothes in over 2 weeks, so there is a giant mound of clean clothes in our bedroom.

9. I cannot stand fake Cheetos, Goldfish nor Cheese its. The generic brands just taste weird and icky…

10. I only have two semesters left in college. I graduate Dec 2012. :) I take my certification exams in January when I go home to FL.
