Bible reading and memorizing scripture.

Well, today is Tuesday and usually I would have went to Palates this morning... but I was exhausted! I didn't get much sleep last night because Mikel was moving so much trying to find a position that wouldn't hurt. Oh well... I guess I will go to palates on Thursday instead. :)

Recently, I have been working on memorizing the book of James. I only have memorized the first chapter and 4verses into the 2 but I am working on it. Everyday I try to read through the whole book of James and read a chapter of psalm and/or proverbs. Its hard to be diligent in this... Some weeks/days I do great... I remember and take the time to spend in Gods word that I need to, and other days/weeks I don't.... I have found though, that those days when I read even just a chapter of any book that, things go better. That I feel like I can handle anything because God is with me... There are also those times when God uses what I read to smack me upside the head.... But who is complaining... He is God and He loves me and wants me to Glorify Him. I can't do that if I am not obeying him and acting like him can I? I think not! Anyway, if you read this... I encourage you to take sometime to day to open your bible (or the app on your phone/ipod) and read a chapter or more and pick a verse or passage to begin memorizing. Reading and memorizing God's word brings us closer to Him, makes us stronger in Him, and helps us to encourage others. We as Christians are supposed to "Hide God's word in our hearts." We cannot do this without knowing what His word says.

Well, that's all for now...

  1. I really liked this thanks for sharing!! It is important to make sure we take some time out for God every day...so many people get so busy with hustle and bustle of life that sometimes we forget, its nice to stop and think about this and I appreciate your little reminder :)
