New phone

Trying out the blogger app on my new phone. (I just got an htc evo shift. It's really cool!) This will make it way easier to blog on the go. If you have a smart phone, you should definietly download the blogger app.

I am also practicing posting photos through my phone. Attached is a picture of the hubby and I on our honeymoon in Cocoa beach, FL.

Goals for 2012

My goals for this year are:

1. To learn more about God, to continue to develop my relationship with Him, and to become more like Jesus.

2. To read through the whole bible in a year.

3. To be the best wife to my husband (be like the proverbs 31 woman).

4.To pass my teacher certification exams.

5. To graduate Dec 15th.

6. To loose 60 pounds.

Apple Cinnamon Sticks

So I got this recipe from my friend Jocelyn at His Pursuing Kindness. It is amazing!! I made the cinnamon sticks this morning for the hubby and I. I made them completely sugar free for me, and made a glaze for the hubbys. To make them sugar free I replaced the sugar in the cinnamon sugar with splenda and did not put the glaze on mine.

Here is the recipie curtesey of Joycelyn:

Ingredients (the measurements are all approximations):
2½ cups flour (1½ cups all purpose flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour)
1 Tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon
1-1½ cup milk (more or less)
4 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp oil
cinna-sugar (mix up some cinnamon in sugar/splenda)
½  an apple, peeled and chopped
glaze/frosting (optional)

Directions: 
1. Preheat oven to 425.
2. In a bowl, mix up all the dry ingredients. Slowly add milk until dough is formed. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour. If the dough is too dry, add milk very little at a time until its soft.
3. Put butter and oil into a pan and stick it in the oven to melt. While the butter is melting, roll out the dough and slice into strips.
4. Take the pan out of the oven and dip each strip into the melted butter until both sides are coated. After all the strips are done and placed into the pan, sprinkle the cinnasugar on top first and then the chopped apples.
5. Bake for 20 minutes.
6. When breadsticks are done, immediately drizzle glaze. Serve warm since the breadsticks turn pretty tough and hard once they start to cool.
This recipe was adapted from Tammy's Easy Breadsticks

One thing i did differently than the recipe above is that I used all purpose flour for the flour. I did not use a mixture of flours.  

For the glaze I used a recipie from the Betty Croker Cook Book here is the recipie:


1/2cup powder sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
2-3tbs milk
(I added a hint of cinnamon to my ingrediants, as i love cinnamon.)


Stir all ingredients until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.

The Grand Canyon

So today, we spent all day at the Grand Canyon and boy was it amazing!!! It was beautiful! I took over 300pics today. I am so happy we got the opportunity to go. I have now seen the big trees in Cali and the Grand Canyon.... Hmmm What will be next????

Other than the Grand canyon, there was lots of snow everywhere which  of course, being Floridians, we had to stop and play in.  Our puppies were funny in the snow, they couldn't decide what to do. They ate it and then played in it. It was really funny in one of the places we stopped to play in the snow, they sunk all the way in the snow. I wish they would have stayed still long enough for a picture but oh well. LOL!

 The above are just a few of the picture we took today. :)

Looking at the Grand Canyon made me meditate on God and his greatness. Seeing the "Grand" Canyon made me think about how big or GRAND my God is... I mean, he is bigger than the grand canyon which is HUGE!!!!!Sitting here writing this brings tears to my eyes. So many times I put God in a box, meaning God is somewhat smaller and can only affect somethings. He controls everything and is way bigger than any problem I have! Sometimes, that is hard to remember... How Great is our God? Greater than we will ever know or understand!!!!

Not posting

Hi, so I know I haven't posted recently, but the holidays have made me upset and very busy.

Currently the hubby, puppies and I are at a hotel close to the Grand Canyon. Tomorrow we go there.

Our Christmas was great, but sad because we were all alone. I missed my family a whole lot! We go to FL a week from Monday. :) I can't wait! I miss everyone!

We got to go look at our future home yesterday. I can't wait to move into a house!!!

Today's Photo Challenge is a cup of cheer. So I took pics of hot chocolate which both the hubby and I love especially on a cold wet day like today! I however, have to drink diet swiss miss. I bet you can guess from the pics which is diet and which isnt. :)

I forgot to do todays Photo Challenge Dec 17th

So I totally forgot to do today's Photo Challenge under the mistletoe.. ooops... But on another note, I have been having fun with my camera. I also have been working on a baby quilt for my future nephew, Colton. My sister-in-law Jen is due in February. All I have left of the quilt is to do the binding aka the siding. Here is a pic of the front and back and maybe some other pics of random things. But first, the latest picture of Colton. :)
